Practice
In order for the group to improve, it is the responsibility of each band member to practice at home multiple times per week.
Practice should be three things:
Consistent- Students should practice at home at least 3 times a week.
Intensely Focused- Minimize distractions by turning off the computer, tv or other electronic devices.
Target weakness at the edge of current ability- Practice something you cant quite perform correctly.

Performance Day Expectations:
-Arrive On Time so that we can all begin work immediately
-Wear LONG black socks
-Wear something lightweight that will fit underneath your uniform- T-Shirt, Athletic Shorts (You will not have privacy to change in and out of your uniform, so this is crucial)

-All students must wear sneakers/socks and bring their own water bottle EVERY DAY during school during marching band season.
Grading
Participation: Students will receive 5 participation points each day. The following are possible point deductions:
Behavior Issues: -1 (up to -5/day)
Lack of Materials: -1 for every item on the Required Accessories list missing
No instrument OR book: Automatic -5 points for the day.
Playing Tests: There will be multiple playing tests throughout the year
Playing tests are worth 25 points.
Students missing a performance will have their grade lowered one full letter grade.
